ATHLETIC EVENTS

Frosh/JV/Varsity Volleyball vs Central @ Southwest @ 4/5/6:00 pm.  Excuse FROSH ONLY @ 3:00 pm.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
 
WINTER ATHLETES- If you are interested in playing Boys/Girls Basketball, Boys/Girls Soccer or Wrestling and you are not currently in a sport or extra-curricular activity you will need to pick up a clearance packet in the ASB office and Clearance for Winter has started.  If you are currently in a sport, you must finish the season and turn in your equipment to Albert in order to get cleared for a Winter Sport. Practice begins Saturday, November 11th.  Any questions see ASB Ladies. 

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS:  Reminder!  Grad Nite spots are filling up.  The contract agreement for Grad Nite must be signed by you and your parent whether you are paying in full or on a payment plan.  Spots are limited and on a first come, first serve bases.  Questions stop by the ASB Office. 

ATTN ALL EAGLE DEAN’S LIST SCHOLARS:  Students earning a 3.5 or higher during the 1st Quarter.  Your ASB has planned & prepared a 1st Quarter Dean's List gift bag giveaway during Advisory Periods – TOMORROW, Wednesday, 10/25, for lowerclassmen (frosh/sophomores) & Thursday, 10/26, for upperclassmen (juniors/seniors) in the outdoor amphitheater.  Students, ask your advisory teachers if you are unsure if you are excused to the event. A list of all students earning a 3.5 or higher was sent to all teachers. Congratulations to our 1st Eagle Dean's List scholars!  (24, 25, 26)

ATTN ALL SENIORS:  A representative from Balfour will be at the ASB room Q-90 Thursday, October 26th during both lunches 11:41am to 1:30 pm .  He will be taking ring or letterman jacket orders.   Stop by the ASB Office to pick up a packet.  (24, 25, 26)

ATTN ALL STUDENTS:  All students: Come and have a howling time at the Halloween Dance on Friday, Oct. 27th. DJ music, food, and drinks. Lockdown 7:30 - 9:30 PM. Buy your tickets at ASB for only $10. ATTENTION MIGRANT STUDENTS:  Do you want to be more prepared for college or want to learn how to get some extra cash to pay for college? The ICOE Migrant Regional Office is holding their annual Path to the University Leadership Conference TODAY.  Please stop by the Migrant Office to pick up the registration forms.   (24)

ATTN SENIORS:   IVC Staff will be on SHS campus TODAY, TOMORROW and Wednesday in the English 12 classes to complete your IVC Admission Application.   Reminder you will need to have your Social Security number, your name as it appear on your social security card and other info listed on the flier that will be provided to you during your English 12 classes.  For any questions, see your counselor. MEXICAN/AMERICAN CLUB:  Attention club members, the car wash money is due TODAY. Turn in your car wash money into the ASB office TODAY please.  Thank you.  (24)

ATTN HOSA-FUTURE HEALTH PROFESSIONALS:  Final informational meeting this Thursday in MPR at 3:30pm before membership closes. All HOSA dues must be paid to ASB by Monday, October 30th.  See any HOSA officer or Mrs. Valadez in room K-52 with any questions.  (24, 25, 26, 27)

ATTN AP/IB CLUB MEMBERS:  There will be a mandatory meeting in Mrs. Turner’s room I-50 on October 26th at 3:30 pm to discuss the pie fundraiser.  You must attend this meeting to receive your forms and get pricing and timing information.  (24, 25, 26)

ATTN EVERYONE:  We are set to have our annual Parents vs Frosh, Staff vs JV and Alumni vs Varsity volleyball games on Thursday October 26th at 4pm/5pm/6pm.  Please let Coach Hinshaw know if any parents, alumni or staff is interested in participating. These games are always fun, competitive and full of great action play. Come on over and support our teams!   (24, 25, 26)

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CLUB:  There will be a meeting Thursday, October 26th after school in room O-72. (23, 24, 25, 26)

GOT TALENT?:  CUHS and SHS Link Crew will be hosting a Talent Show! Proceeds will go to a disaster relief fund. Sign up to participate in room F-37 with Ms. Solorzano this week. Talent show will be November 9th. See a Link Crew member for tickets.   (24, 25, 26,27)

LATIN DANCE CLUB:  Latin Dance Practice during advisory all this week. Please get your teacher's approval before attending. Passes as proof of attendance can be issued.  (24, 25, 26, 27)

REMINDERS

ATTN SENIORS:  SAT and ACT registration deadlines are coming up! Mark your calendar if you plan to take the SAT on December 2nd or the ACT on December 9th.  SAT Registration Deadline for the December 2nd test is November 2nd.  ACT Registration Deadline for the December 9th test is November 3rd. For more information on the SAT/ACT and Fee Waivers, stop by the Counseling Office to make an appointment with your Counselor.  (25, 26, 27)

There, you will find information on upcoming scholarships, as well as helpful links to find additional scholarships, and tips to make your application standout. ATTN SOUTHWEST ARTISTS:  Submit a picture of your artistic creations for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship! The art theme is the "San Joaquin Kit Fox", a California endangered species; visit www.bethewhale.com for more info. Entry form applications are available at the Counseling Office or at the Eagles Counseling Scholarship website at eaglecounseling.weebly.com or go to our school website and click on Counseling Services. ATTN SENIOR/JUNIOR STUDENTS:  We will be offering the ASVAB on Wednesday, November 1st from 8 to 12 pm. If you want to take an initial test to determine your edibility to enlist in one of the military branches or you simply want to have a career and aptitude test to determine a possible career field, this is the test for you. Sign up in the counseling office. Space is limited to the first 50 students who sign up.
