School Safety

See it, Hear it, Report it.

catapult anonymous reporting

Our school is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff. The CatapultEMS Anonymous Reporting system provides a confidential way for students and staff members to report potential safety threats, bullying incidents, or concerns for well-being without fear of retaliation.

Making a School Threat is No Joke! It’s a Crime

If you see someting or hear something suspicious related to school, it should be immediately reported to a school administrator, an adult, or authorities. You can report information about a potential threat to the El Centro Police Department at 760-352-2111, if it’s an emergency, call 911.

Re-sharing or re-posting unverified information on social media creates unnecesary fear and instability within the community. Remember, if you see something, say something. Your timely action can help prevent potential harm and protect our community.

Synthetic Drugs, Counterfeit Pills & Fentanyl Awareness

Synthetic Drugs Can Be Deadly

Synthetic drugs, including fentanyl, are extremely potent. Even a very small amount can cause a life-threatening overdose, particularly when someone does not know it is present.

Counterfeit Pills Are Difficult to Identify

Illegal pills are often made to look like legitimate prescription medications such as pain relievers or medications for anxiety or attention disorders. These counterfeit pills may contain fentanyl or other dangerous substances and cannot be identified by appearance alone.

Only Take Medication Prescribed to You

Students should only take medications that have been prescribed specifically for them by a licensed healthcare provider and dispensed through a licensed pharmacy. Medications should never be shared between friends or obtained from another source.

Be Aware of Online Risks

Drug dealers increasingly use social media platforms and messaging apps to advertise and sell illegal drugs. Students should never purchase medications or substances online or through social media and should immediately report suspicious messages to a trusted adult.

How Families Can Help

Parents and guardians can make a significant difference by:

  • Talking openly with their child about the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit pills.
  • Encouraging students to seek help if they feel pressured by peers or encounter suspicious online activity.
  • Reminding students that one pill from an unverified source can have life-threatening consequences.
  • Keeping medications safely stored and properly disposing of unused prescription medications.

Working together, families, schools, and our community can help keep our students safe and informed.

If you have concerns about your child or need assistance connecting with support services, please contact your school's administration or counseling office.
